Born in Devon, England, Dorothea studied fine art at Dartington College of Art from 1963 to 1964. She then moved to London to study painting at the Slade school of Fine Art from 1964 to 1968. 

On completing her studies she established an editioning and platemaking workshop for intaglio called STUDIO PRINTS which ran for four decades, until 2011.
As a visiting lecturer she established the etching department at the Holmes Rd. part of Camden Institute in London. She has also taught printmaking in various art Schools including The Royal College of Art, Cambridge School of Art, Brighton School of Art, Medway College and is currently teaching printmaking part-time at Morley College London.She is also an Honorary member of the Royal Society of Painter-etchers.

Dorothea died on the 23rd of May 2013 at her home in Muswell Hill, London at the age of 68.

1964 - 1968 Slade School of Fine Art London
1968 - Established Studio Prints, Intaglio editioning workshop with plate making facilities. She started a series of etchings inspired by Egyption motives.
1972 - Studio Prints move to a new building, Dorothea adds to the workshop an Art Gallery.
1974 - She discovers the mezzotint technique,her subject matter becoms personal and profoundly poetic
After - 1976 she participates to a great number of International Print Biennales In India, Japan, Europe and United States. She is awarded several prizes in these exhibitions.
1978 - Her prints become impressive in size and ambitious in technique .
1992 - A holiday on the Greek island of Halki. The dry, hilly island and it's ragged cost offer new inspiration to Dorothea.
2000 - Diagnosed with cancer.
2003 - She starts experimenting with digital techniques.
2006 - She produces several digital images.
2013 - She died May the 23rd .
